Pascal's Tour

Name: Pascal

Country: Germany

Location: Tegernsee valley

Category: Gravel

Distance: 70,0 km (50% Road/ 50% Offroad)

Elevation gain: 1.300 m

Route: The Tegernsee valley is the perfect area for eGravel biking. The small roads in the Bavarian backcountry and gravel roads to the alpine pastures are made for gravel bikes – with a slight motor support: Because the steep road with an incline of up to 20% to the magnificent "Prinzenruh" viewpoint over Bad Wiessee or the last ramps to the alpine pastures take you to –or beyond– your physical limits without an eBike.

You can start at any point on my sporty Hills of Home tour, which for me first leads through the Mangfall valley to Gmund at lake Tegernsee. With wonderful viewpoints it goes to Bad Wiessee and then over the Söllbach valley to the Schwarzentenn Alm. On a nearly 20 km long descent you fly back to the city Tegernsee for the second climb up to the summit of Kreuzbergalm. Over a few meters of single trail it takes you down to lake Schliersee and with a few shorter counter climbs through the Bavarian backcountry back to the starting point Müller am Baum.

This was the most fun: "With the eGravel bike, the steep edges are much easier to pedal up and the great views of lake Tegernsee and the Bavarian Alps."

Weather conditions: "Perfect summer day with hot temperatures as a long evening loop into the sunset. With a stop at the Schwarzentenn Alm and an obligatory dip into the Mangfall river in the end."

Support mode and battery: "I ride the flat sections and in slight climbs in Breeze with a light tail wind of 80 watts motor power. If it gets steeper, I switch to River and on the steepest ramps I ride in Rocket mode with up to 250 watts. So one 250Wh battery was enough for the whole tour."
